Toronto, Canada: In a crucial meet fostering economic ties between India and Canada, Honorable Mr. Piyush Goyal, Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry, engaged with members of the People of Indian Origin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PIOCCI), Canada. The gathering revolved around subjects of mutual interest, including commerce, education, and trade.

Minister Goyal underscored the crucial role of the Indian diaspora in bolstering the Canadian economy, lauding PIOCCI for its exemplary efforts in opening avenues for business and fostering Indo-Canadian partnerships.

"The Indian diaspora has made significant contributions to the Canadian economy, and there's an array of opportunities we can explore together to fortify economic ties between our nations," said Minister Goyal. He expressed confidence that this meeting would be a cornerstone in carving out new avenues for collaboration and partnership.

Prashant Srivastava, President of PIOCCI Canada, and the Country Convener Naresh Kumar Chavda echoed the Minister's sentiments. They highlighted the importance of fostering deeper economic engagement between India and Canada, introducing key community members and business leaders such as Vikash Sharma, CEO of ICICI Bank Canada, Priya Patil, Lawyer and Investment Banker, Kamal Tomar, VP of Save Max-Real Estate, and Surendra Sharma, President of Power Saving Systems Inc., among others.

The Minister lauded PIOCCI Canada's virtual initiatives, notably supporting "Chalo Gaon Ki Aur" and "Vocal for local," which aim to globalize Indian villages and amplify local voices.

This engaging meeting between Minister Goyal and the PIOCCI Canada members marks a significant stride in strengthening Indo-Canadian economic and cultural ties and unleashing growth and cooperation opportunities. Other notable attendees included Dr. Indira Khurana, a prominent entrepreneur and CEO of Laser Cosmetics and Pain Treatment Clinics, Balasubramaniam Khandaswami, President of Nilgiri Restaurants, and Vishwas Dhekney P.Eng, Former President of IIT Association of Canada.
