PIOCCI organised a session at the Rising Himachal Global Investors Meet. The session was addressed by Himachal minister Mrs. Sarveen Chaudhary. It was attended by investors from the USA, UK, UAE, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore and other countries.
Himachal Government organized 'Rising Himachal Global Investor Meet' on 7 & 8 November, 2019 at Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was received by the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Jai Ram Thakur at SAI Ground. Governor, Shri Bandaru Dattatreya; Former Chief Minister Shri Shanta Kumar and Member of Parliament Shri Kishan Kapoor and other dignitaries also welcomed the Prime Minister.
On arrival at the venue, the Prime Minister went around the exhibition stalls and Chief Secretary Dr Shrikant Baldi briefed the Prime Minister about the exhibition. He was accompanied by the Chief Minister and the Governor. The Prime Minister addressed the inaugural session and lauded the efforts of the state government for organizing this mega event. On this occasion, Prime Minister also released the coffee table book 'Investors Heaven Rising Himachal'.
Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur addressed the industrialists and entrepreneurs from varied fields including Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Food processing, IT and Electronics etc. During the second day of the Investors Meet, Cabinet Minister Sh Piyush Goyal addressed the gathering where he said that it was for the first time that the State Government had taken a holistic approach to attract investment for the state.
PIOCCI partnered the Government of Himachal in the event and organized a session on 'Indian Diaspora' which was attended by more than 200 delegates. The Speakers in this session included Sh Amitabh Avasthi, IAS Secretary- Horticulture, Food & Civil supplies and Consumer affairs Government of Himachal Pradesh; Sh Atul Kulkarni, President PIOCCI; Dr B R Shetty, Founder & Chairman NMC Healthcare, UAE; Sh Arree Chandran Vishwanathan, Director, Budisoft Sdn Bhd, Malaysia; Sh Sumit Chakravarty, Board Member, Cargo Services SIA, Latvia; Sh Sanjay Ganjoo, Vice President PIOCCI; Sh Abbagani Ramu, Joint Secretary, Overseas Indian Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA); Sh Sanjiv Arora, Former Secretary, Overseas Indian Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Smt Savreen Chaudhary, Hon'ble Cabinet Minister, Department of Housing, Town & Country Planning and Urban Development, Government of India. The session attracted members of PIOCCI from Malaysia, Russia, Latvia, UAE, USA, Canada, Singapore, Bahrain, Oman, UK and many other countries.
The PIOCCI session at Dharamsala was focused on the global outreach of India through its Diaspora present in more than 150 countries. The Session on 7th November 2019 offered an excellent opportunity for the Indian government, Indian companies and Diaspora individuals and businesses to present, connect and engage with each other. It presented an excellent opportunity for the Investors to Expand their businesses in Himachal Pradesh.
PIOCCI also was part of the exhibition and received enthusiastic enquiries in the stall. It received more than 800 calls and most of the visitors showed great interest in the activities of the Chamber.
