Vichitra Sharma (National Executive Member)
In a long and distinguished career, Ms. Vichitra Sharma has worked as a print and TV journalist, a trainer, and a development communications advisor. She has worked as a political and diplomatic correspondent, with leading Indian newspapers, including the Economic Times, the Times of India, the Hindustan Times, the Business & Political Observer and Associate Editor of ‘Grassroots- Reporting the Human Condition’.
She has taught editing and reporting at media schools, has been an Advisor on Communications & Public Affairs to international organizations; these are the European Union, UNICEF, the World Bank and International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), the latter based in London for three years. Currently, she is Coordinator Public Affairs and Media for the International Buddhist Confederation and Editor of the newsletter ‘Sambodh’.
Vichitra Sharma holds a Masters degree in International Affairs (specializing in Economic and Political development with Project Management experiences) from Columbia University, New York. She is from the advanced journalism batch of 1982, International Institute for Journalism, Berlin, Germany. She went to Jesus & Mary College (B.A. Economics Honours) and Welham Girls’ High School, Dehra Dun.
